For times when feelings of unworthiness creep in.
“Shall I be Judas
and kiss Your face
just to betray Your trust;
to allow the sufferings
of my past mistakes
be the rope from which
I hang?
Or shall I be Peter
and deny Your name
with three rooster crows;
and after labored attempts
to hide from Your sight
I receive forgiveness
with complete grace
shown?”

Practical Minimalism
Just came across this on Pinterest and I think it accurately aligns with a number of practices I've been living out that have been a huge help in clearing the mind and gaining a sense of peace. On top of prayer of course!! :)

This was almost a vent post. A cry out. A prayer.
But I realize that you choose what you let affect you. You choose what you allow to intoxicate your mind.
I know that I am living out my purpose and the result of that has been revolutionary in my life.
Lost my way there for a quick second, but still swimming up.
Still going against the current until I hit the view at the top.

New Year Projects!
2014 was an incredibly blessed year.
To sum it up, it's difficult to begin explaining a total transformation in myself because I feel as though I have completely lost touch with the frame of mind I used to place myself in.
Even my playlist looks as though it's undergone revolution, it's insane!!
Anyways if I were to create a personal resolution slogan for 2015, it would be:
When you look for flowers, you'll find flowers. When you look for weeds, you'll find weeds.
I've been busy stuffing my brain with positive input during the final few days of 2014.
One of which was a Ted talk by Shawn Achor called "The Happiness Advantage".
The talk contains a number of gold nuggets, but the most valuable points to me were:
- When we change the way our brain processes the world, we can change many things in reality.
- 75% of job successes are predicted by optimism levels, social support and ability to see stress as a challenge instead of as a threat, while only 25% are predicted by IQ.
- We need to reverse the formula for happiness and success. This is not done by outlining the negative things that could happen - "The absence of disease is not health".
- This is done by positive thinking and taking part in daily habits that build a positive mindset.
For over two weeks now, I've been jotting down 3 gratitudes each day and am slowly working on the other suggestions Achor had (journaling, exercise, meditation and RAK).
"10 Keys for Consistent Growth" by John Maxwell also underlined the importance of reflection.
"Experience is not the best teacher, evaluated experience is."
"Happiness is growth. Show me a person that's growing and I'll show you a happy person."
"Growth demands a temporary surrender of security."
"You will never change your life unless you change something you do daily."
With all that in mind, I've decided that this new year I want to implement an intentional growth plan that includes daily habits catered towards developing the areas I want to grow in.
In this project, I will include:
- a photo (most likely a selfie tbh - physical changes over one year are interesting to look back on)
- 3 gratitudes
- anything I've learned today
- anything that stirred my heart today
The entries don't need to be long. The key is consistency. Keep me accountable :)
