Blessings in Disguise

Hey everyone! Long time no post-ish? Haha
I've been pretty much out and about for the past few days because my grandma Esther and aunt Heidi are visiting here from the Philippines. I've also had my hands full with a film project for drama class. Let's just say I've been downtown this week more times than I usually go in a whole year.

SOOoOo, during one of our "hour-long" filming breaks, my drama group and I found this cute little vintage shop that was closing. I think it was the "Fill a bag for $20 sale" that caught our eyes. It was pretty humid in there... I guess the people who spent hours and hours digging for "amazing finds" in the mountains of clothes explains it.

If anyone wanted to know, the shop was called, "True Value Vintage." They have an etsy link if anyone's interested!

We didn't have a whole lot of time to rummage through the clothes, so my group of four decided to split a bag. I guess that means everyone pitches in $5. Overall, I managed to take five clothing articles. This one's my favourite because it's super breeeezy and Summer's just around the corner! (Hopefully) Vancouver's weather is pretty bipolar..

Here are some other pictures from the rest of my "Adventures with grandma and tita."

Granville

Hey everyone! Today, I pretty much just roamed around downtown again, filming short clips to put in my movie project for drama class. Manage to take a few pictures as well. Pretty much just a chill Friday after school thing, Haha! Oh yeah, did I mention that I came across Elise Estrada again? Adam and Elise actually recognized me back from The Beat Music Awards 2010. Yay Camille!

I'll most likely be uploading more photos from the rest of my long weekend on Tuesday! My grandma and aunt from the Philippines are here to visit, so i'll probably be doing a lot of touring some time soon!

In Our Lifetime

Hey everyone! As promised, I'm back with pictures and fun experiences to share. So yesterday, I went to Victoria for the second time this month. It's a little weird going out so much, since I usually only go to Victoria once a year, if I ever go at all.

What we did...Basically, I'm part of my school's reverence for life team. It's a team that is 100% Pro Life. I am a really strong believer in this cause and I believe that we will be able to make abortion illegal again in our lifetime. Abortion is a violation of the human right to life. It sucks how the humans in their youngest form can't stand up for their own lives. That is why every year, we head over to the capital of our province to walk and take a stand against abortion. The human life starts from the moment of conception. At that point in time, every human should be respected. If we don't get to choose whether or not someone gets to keep their life, then it should be the same way for every child. We need to take responsibility for our actions to prevent this from happening. Life is a gift. We need to cherish it and respect it.

Then again, you all have the right to your opinions as well and I completely respect that. I'll just have you know right now, my stand on this is not going to change hahaha. Just stating where I stand, that is all!

Anyways, Victoria's a pretty neat city. Apparently it's the "Most haunted city in Canada." All I really see when I think of Victoria is a city of old, street stores that you wouldn't really ever see in the urban-ated areas of Surrey.

After the walk/march, the reverence for life team was given time to roam around Victoria. This time, we found so many little antique stores and boutiques. Pictures to share, coming right up!

Russell Books Used&New

Ditch Record Store

Head Over Heels Shoe Store

Has anyone heard of "Bensimon Sneakers?" Ina Roque and I will be the first in Surrey to have a pair!

We were also given time before the march to roam around and explore a local park/beach area in Victoria.

Did you notice my pinstripe pants?

Overall, the yearly Victoria trip is always amazing. I wouldn't miss it for anything! Although we all had to wake up at 4:30AM and arrive home at 9:30 PM, it was all worth it.

It All Begins Today

*Sigh* I think the introductions to all of my posts will have something to do with exhaustion, as a result of busy school weeks. Although all of my weeks are pretty much always crazy, this week was a little bit different. As you all know, the past two weeks have been devoted to working on my Socials project: Attempting to make a "patchy" quilt and touring my home town. I'm glad to say that my Socials project is officially finished! 26 paragraphs on British Columbia, a quilt and whole days dedicated to taking pictures in two weeks is pretty good, I think!

Other than my time consuming Socials project, my week was also dedicated to preparation for my school's multicultural day. As a member of the school's Mission Team, we had to spend the whole Friday setting up and making food for the school. I'm pretty sure the proceeds go towards our trip in December to build houses in the Philippines! Three of my friends and I also participated in our school's multicultural talent show. All went well as we received second place! Too bad it was a competition though. I'm really not huge on competitions. Usually the Multicultural Day show is just a showcase of talents..

In case you were wondering about how my interview went, it turns out it wasn't an interview after all! It was actually a group information session, where we all sat around a meeting table and learned a little bit more about what we have to do if we are accepted. We were also required to take a test on basic Math and English (which I didn't think was that easy at all.) All in all, they took 250 applicants and narrowed it down to 40 - those who went to that group information session. Those 40 will then be narrowed down for the actual interviews...which I just received a call to attend this afternoon! Praise God! In the end, six will be chosen for the job. I'm pretty sure I'm blessed enough to make it this far anyways, so either way I'll be good. Wish me luck and prayers for my real interview on Tuesday everyone!

Hoping all is well with everyone!
