Shortest Post Ever.

I NEED TO STUDY FOR SOCIALS NOW!!! Basically, I couldn't make a post yesterday because I was tired as fuhh from the retreat and SERVICE TEAM, so I decided to sleep at 8:30. Woooooo! Also, the internet was being a freaking retard and it was lagging to the max. I highly doubt i'll watch any Mara Clara or Kimi ni Todoke this week. Not even on the weekend! :( Stupid tests. STUPID TESTS.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that yesterday was probably the best retreat day we've ever had, since you know...retreats aren't really the best things anyways. I actually felt united with my grade. Or well, half of my grade. So thanks everyone!! Hooray for deep life talks with half of your grade. #peace

Retreat Part I

Hi everyone. To be honest, I'm not really in the mood to be writing on this right now. I don't have a voice, I have a huge headache, my parents are pissed off at me, I haven't watched Mara Clara, I haven't watched Kimi Ni Todoke, I have a socials test on Friday, I have to finish reading a whole book by Friday and I have a science test on Monday. None of that even matters though because Emma and Jessica want me to write, so here I go!

I woke up this morning with no voice. Sounds like fun stuff, and it was! Kinda. Other than the fact that I had an itchy throat and I was constantly coughing. Today was the day of the Grade 10 Retreat for the students of well, you know what school. It was a tad disappointing seeing as we really didn't do anything besides Stations, Food, Meditation and Mass. I was expecting more activities, but I shouldn't be complaining because at least I wasn't sitting in a classroom all day. The stations were pretty amusing. Again, not going to complain because watching personalized power point slides by your peers is a lot better than listening to the actual stations of the cross. Overall, the day went by pretty quick!

After school, Christine and I headed over to the home of our intense "Life Talks," the library. Emma, you will not laugh at this.
The original plan was to open up our textbooks and study for the socials test, but knowing us...It didn't technically turn out the way we planned. Two hours of life talk? I think so! The library trip ended with a trip to Mac's, because headaches lead to ice cream cravings. You know me.

Unfortunately by the time we were leaving, I checked my phone and was surprised to see 15 missed calls from my parents. Heck were they mad. Ugh, hello to lost responsibility and trust from parents! I guess this is goodbye to going out. I now have to call my mom right after school to tell her where I'm going. I feel so bad though because they were so worried, all because of my incapability to check my phone! (Coincidentally, just yesterday my mom asked me why I checked my phone so often.)

I think this should be long enough. I now have an internet curfew of 10 o'clock by the way, as a result of my lost voice. My parents think it's because of my immense "lak op slip." Farewell tout le monde, I need to do something productive.

Last Day of Freedom

Hiya. So for the past few days I've been watching a whole lotta movies. Thank you papa for installing netflix on PS3!! That's basically what I've been doing all day, other than TFC and...KNITTING! Yep. I started knitting again and I don't even know why. It hurts my head so much and it's so annoying because I'm using two different sized needles. (6.5mm and 5mm) Irresponsible me lost the other pair of both. Oh, did I mention Angelica came back from San Fran yesterday?! (PS thank you thank you thank you for the bracelet and the mushed penny!)AIOEGIEGLSKFJBOUI YUP! Since she's back, today we headed out to Wired Monk to see that Fluorescent Adolescent art show.

Some of their paintings, drawings..let's just call them masterpieces were amazing! They had some really nice people and good hot chocolate as well! We all know who's coming back there after school everyday ;) At around 8:30 we went home for Earth Hour. That's kind of self explanatory haha. Here's what we did..

Typical. HAHA!

EARTH HOUR!

Earth hour reminder to everyone! From 8:30-9:30. If huge cities can participate in this, so can your house! HAHAHA

Friday, March 25, 2011

It's Friday. Again.

So instead of heading to Cafe's all over the lower mainland today (Wired Monk), I ended up staying home. My grandma was feeling dizzy all day so I stayed home with her and we watched some TFC, hah no surprise there! Surprisingly though,I found myself doing homework for a mere 5 minutes. I managed to complete my CAPP homework. I think i'll leave the rest of my Socials and English for Sunday evening. I also took an unexpected nap today, since I woke up early thinking I was going out. Oh how I'd like to go to that area in New West where it's all pretty and old school looking. Meh. I'm sorry Emma, no pictures of tacky pants today! I'm pretty disappointed myself.

The second half of my day was spent messaging my previous Japanese Students to see if their families are alright. It seems like all of them are fine thank God. I actually really miss having Japanese students in my house. I love meeting them, reading their letters and learning things about their culture. They always come with little presents too! Oh! Before I forget again, i'd like everyone to meet Camille Langcaon, my mini-me.

This is the little girl that my family's been sponsoring from the Phils. She's eight years old and her favourite sport is basketball. Neat stuff! At first I wanted a little Ethiopian kid, but my parents found a "Camille" and decided to go with that. I think I'm going to write her a letter today. Hopefully she understands English! Maybe I'll have to write a Tagalog translation too hahaha. Alright, so I'm probably gonna eat some sushi now. I think "Sushi Fridays" during lent is slowly becoming a tradition in the Reyes Residence. =) See ya'll

Reality Checking In

Hi all. Not a whole lot of writing to do today. I slept over at Therese's house and uh. Well, I slept at 12 and I woke up at 12.. That's pretty much it. Spent the day watching them play Grand Theft Auto, and planting seeds in Therese's backyard. Here ya go!

PS. I can't believe tomorrow's already Friday. It seemed like it was only yesterday when I heard Rebecca Black's voice on the PA system of my school. One more weekend left until school starts again. Sorry to whoever reads this for the reality check. I know, I haven't done my homework yet either. HC sucks for the one week spring break. Even though we practically already had our spring break through the many days off we got that the public schools didn't get. Including Catholic Educator's Conference weekend.

Maximum Adventure

Hi all! Pretty darn good day today, starting off at 6AM. Basically, I just got home from the longest walking adventure in my life. I woke up at 6 so that I could catch my dad and ask for a ride to Therese's house before he left for work. I didn't end up going back to sleep after that, despite the fact that I slept at 2AM last night. Hello early sleeping tonight!! At around 12PM, Therese and I went to Wendy's for lunch. (Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers and FROSTY!) We went off to the library after to drop off some books and borrow some new ones. In the end, I ended up borrowing three books...
  • Photography, A Crash Course by Dave Yorath
  • Handwriting Analysis by Marc Seifer
  • The Fashion Designers Directory of Shape and Style by Simon Travers-Spencer

Don't ask me why I borrowed these books, they're just interesting that's all. Hahahahha

After the library, we walked around Dollar Park to stall for time before Ate Nicole had to come over. We probably circled that store 50 times no joke. We were debating on buying big gift bags with babies on them to home alarm systems. In the end, we ended up buying...plant seeds. (TO BE PLANTED LATER! =))

After circling the Dollar Store for too long, we decided to just go ahead and pick up Ate Nicole from her house. Yup, we decided to walk from 160 street to 152 street/88 Ave to 82 Ave. At the time, it didn't seem like such a far walk. After 2 hours of walking into complete nothingness, (we really didn't know where we were going) we gave up and sat at the closest bus stop. Thankfully, our prayers were answered and my Tita found us and drove us to Ate Nicole's house. After reaching Ate Nicole's house, we watched a little bit of Maury..then we went back out to start the long walk back. We walked along Fraser and decided to stop by McDonalds and Tim's. Did you know Tim's had a new straw wrapper recycling box!? It's GENIUS!!

The adventure ended by walking all the way back to Therese's house. Omg, I currently feel like melting into this carpet with my ice capp. My legs are dead. They're playing GTA, yay. K, Au revoir!

Repetitive

Set for Life

So, having the title of "Biggest Procrastinator and Perfectionist in the world," my intense closet clean up started at 10PM and ended at 1:30AM. I'm pretty sure that was the most impossible closet clean up ever. I remember complaining about not having enough clothes and wanting to buy more, but after yesterday..I don't think i'll be buying any new clothes for a while.. (Eco Exchange 2011-2012 held at my house!!)

I found so many clothes that I thought I lost and so many clothes that I never knew I had! I think I'm going to alter some of them too, to make use of it. RE-USING OLD CLOTHES (Y) In the end I organized my closet into categories:
  • Tanks, T-shirts, Long sleeves, Shorts, Cargos, Leggings, Jeans, Jean Jackets, Leather Jackets, Knit Sweaters, Cardigans, Polos, Crew-necks, Hoodies, Skirts, Dresses and Jackets.
Then I put them into sub-categories:
  • Indoor and Outdoor
  • Patterned and Plain
I also put my huge winter jackets and long ball gowns from PNT into the middle room closet. (Yes, I need two closets to fit all of my clothes) In the end, I ended up with a huge pile of clothes that I'm probably gonna end up giving to Big Brothers, consisting of: graphic tees and old Abercrombie/Hollister hoodies. So, I think I'm pretty much set for the next two years, clothing-wise. (Or to make a pretty darn good looking LookBook LOL) I don't think I'll outgrow my clothes a whole lot either.. :( It'd be nice to save money for once too. My goal is to pull of a "Christine Lachica" and not spend money on anything but food for a year... Leading to an intense shopping period! Wish me luck!!

G-status

Dream Destinations

Once again, I will be stuck at home all day. During the same time that I am writing this and trying to find something amazing to do with my time, Angelica is flying out to the Golden Gate City - San Francisco. She will be trying new foods, seeing new sights, exploring different lands and taking extraordinary pictures, while I'll be scrolling pages on Tumblr. Ha no, I'll probably be great things in Granville with Kim.

I wish I could say that I do a lot of traveling, but we all know that's a lie. My family is the type to stay home during the shorter breaks (Spring and Winter) and travel during the Summer. The sad thing about my family is that they don't even have a little bit of outgoing in their blood. They aren't flexible and they only like to travel in "safe" places. AKA The Philippines, Chicago, California -places where members of the extended family live. It's always the same old. Every year they'll ask me, "where do you want to go this break?" Every year, I'll reply with France! Italy! Rome! And every year, it's the same reaction.. "Don't you want to see your cousins?" I guess that'd be really cool too, but no point in asking where I want to go right? Why can't we all meet in Paris or something? Sorry all but, Paris is like my dream destination. Not because I want to dress like a hipster and take pictures with a polaroid, but because I want to go there before I forget how to speak French! Maybe I'll go when I'm 20 or something.

Gah, for such a little person, I want to do such big things. I just feel like there's never any time or money. I know there's time right now, but what can I do in a week? Where can I go without a job? What can I do when I still have school to worry about? I feel like life is already planned. School until university, working for your family after that.. Everyone's lives are so average. When will we ever go out of the ordinary? When will there be time to "live" like they all say we should? I want to go to Africa, and Venice as well.

Anyways, I should probably go clean the mess in my closet now.. Maybe I can stick to imagining those places instead. Probably a lot easier to do. Have fun where ever you guys are going! I'll be right here if you need me, right here chilling in front of my computer.

Les Vacances du Printemps

Therese's Dream

Hopefully people can actually read this. Highlight of my day.

Today's probably not going to be the most "bomb-digity day ever." Trying hard not to expect a good day because well, high expectations for days have never really brought me very far. Half of my day was already spent in front of this computer, so I'm not expecting a whole lot for the next half of the day. I honestly have nothing to do.

I can't find this "IS" movie that Sheren's been telling me about. I'm so excited to watch it, but it's no where to be seen!

Oh yeah, I'd like to say that I have finally adjusted to my Canon t2i. Yes, at times I still miss my Nikon, but this new camera..along with it's difficulties has helped me to grow. Since the shutter speed and aperture options on Canon camera's are stupid, I learned to get the hang of the manual mode. Pretty big step for me. *Sigh* One day, I'm going to own the most amazing thing ever that no Hypebeast or Tumblr kid/rest of the world will have.

Right now I'm not the happiest person on earth. It seems like everyone else has been getting all of the luck lately. I feel kind of sad actually, but I have no idea where the source of my sadness is. Maybe it's just everything put together. If there's anything I've been praying for, it's for something amazing to happen. Something that will keep my mind "busy," in a good way. Something that will make up for any unfortunate situation. I need that something.

I guess to a degree, I kind've like sitting in front of this computer with nothing to do. It's a lot less stressful than running around all day to different events/meetings. I know the rest of my Spring Break is going to be a disappointment. One week is not enough. So far I have...

Spring Break 2011
  • Junessa's Birthday Party
  • Josh's Birthday Party
  • March 25th - My 7 from Heaven Sister Bonding
  • CCD/Retreat Meeting today, March 23rd and March 27th
  • Sleepover with Therese and Ate Nicole March 23rd
  • Chill with Vanessa
  • Chill with Paula
  • Fob day with Belle and Princess
May not seem like a whole lot to do, but take to notice that my Spring Break only lasts for one week, I don't like stress and I like doing nothing. Meetings = Stressful. Oh how I wish my family was the type to go on a vacation during short breaks. Then I could truly be freeeee! Anyways, yeah this was my half-day post. Hopefully the other half goes well for me.

Beautiful Days

Hello! Omg. I'd really like to do the Emma introduction again, but I'm afraid it'll get too overused since I'm planning to say it every day. Today was a busy day. Thank God I slept super duper early last night! I woke up today at 6am, seeing as my usual school alarm went off. I went back to bed and woke up at 8 due to this insanely busy day that was to come ahead of me. Three parties, yay. My nose was plugged and my throat was sore the whole day too, but I just can't complain.

First off was Hannah Franzel, my new god-sister's christening. I saw Mrs. Samus and Rob again! Yay. AHHA Obviously the reception would be at Oriental Buffet. According to Kuya Rod that's the "Go-to restaurant" for our family. Cheap and All you can eat.

Following that, we went all the way to White Rock to go bowling for Brother Joshua's 9th Birthday. That kid was spoiled today with a PS3 and a birthday party and he's not even 9 yet. LOL White Rock was the location chosen since both Xcalibur and Willowbrook were fully booked. Hopefully Josh had as much fun as I did. Vanilla Cupcake-Cake was great btw! Too bad the Pizza was freaking tiny as heck. Even for me!!

Lastly, we headed on down to Scott Road for JEWnessaSOULano's 16th Birthday Party!! Hooray for a night of bowling (I surprisingly got better compared to the first bowling party), and friends!! Pretty self-explanatory birthday party judging by the number of pictures I'm about to upload... Get ready :)

My White Girl MUNRO is finally on my blog :')
Birthday Girl, I, Maria, and Belle
I, Belle, Maria and Ina
OMG SAME FREAKING PEOPLE

It's Friday!

Hello world! (Emma Munro) Guess what today is? It's Friday, Friday gotta get down on Friday! Everybody's looking forward to the weekend- NO STFU. Hahaha. Home alone again. No surprise there. Where has my family been going now-a-days? It seems like their always out somewhere over the rainbow, while i'm stuck in this jail cell. Anyhow, other than it being a Friday, today is also the official start of my one week Spring Break, still thankful for it.

My Spring Break starts with another pretty chill day consisting of Martial Arts, Movies and Mall with my "Life Talk Bffs - Ina and Criselle." After school we took the bus to the usual (Guildford) to eat and shop for gifts...not very productive at all haha. Money was spend at DQ and New York Fries, while baller Christine came with $100. Goes to show how saving your money really helps!! I need a job, really. At the mall, we bumped into Mrs. Samus and Rob the Husband holding hands on the escalator. Wouldn't hurt to ruin their moment just this once right? We yelled from the second floor "Hi Mrs. Samus!!" She seemed pretty happy to see three of her favourite students. (lol wtf) Rob the Husband also waved, and he seemed happy that we acknowledged him and said "Hi Rob!!" Say hello to the biggest creeps on Earth. Before heading home, we realized that our bus tickets had just expired. Being the smart kids we are, we ran to the bus stop to catch the 320. The bus driver let us on with expired tickets and we thought we were the coolest kids ever. It turns out, the bus stopped in Fleetwood and we still had to take another bus. Yay for wasted money. Overall, the rest of the day was a fun-filled Alicia Keys singing, Lea Salonga and Luan Legacy watching day. See ya'll after the break!!

Leaning Towards Freedom

The best out of the blurry pictures
Lovely, slack day today to mark off the second day before the start of the long waited, "Spring Break." Ahh Spring Break, this is time of the year that usually reminds me how quickly time flies. I remember the first day of grade 10, thinking this day would never come. There's only three and a half months until SUMMER!!

I've been noticing that I'm starting to care less about mistakes, yet still managing to keep up with work piles. I'm quite proud of myself, really. I remember stressing - even crying, over the smallest things, which obviously isn't healthy at all. We're all young, and yes school is important..but we really shouldn't take things so seriously or be too hard on ourselves. "As long as we've done our best." It's good to do things well, but we have to know when we are pushing ourselves too much. We learn from our mistakes and it's okay to make them. "Jesus teaches us that worrying is a waste of energy," right? - Totally something that was on my religion test today Hahaha.

I spent my day constantly snacking on cupcakes and goodies from the Cheerleader Bake Sale as well. Thank you Junessa for sharing your delicious rainbow coloured cupcakes, probably helped to bring up my mood so much today!! My spare was spent studying for my religion test, but it's alright because I managed to sleep pretty early last night. Religion class was spent as a discussion period. I love those blocks. Honestly, hearing about Mrs. Samus' love life and other..."questions"... is not a bad way to spend the last day one before spring break! Haha, and we all teased Rosabella that she was going to blog about this..turns out I did.

Anyways, going to take a little nap. Typical when I'm at my cousins house and there is nothing to do. See ya'll!

New Beginnings

Hello! I had an idea for a new blog for a quite while now, but I never really knew how to start. I have no idea where I'm going with this blog, but I guess I'll leave that for time to determine. I promise to actually stick with this blog for at least five years, so stick around!!

I went on a little trip to the library yesterday with a friend, and we took out some pretty cool books and tried out that new milkshake machine at Mac's! I'd really love to have more time to read more books, but busy-ness has got the best of me. I guess busy-ness has got it's ups and downs, it all depends on what you have planned. If you enjoy what you do, it's all good. You'll never be bored, you'll meet new people and you'll have a lot of fun. It only ever becomes a problem when you have too much on your hands and you are making no effort to cut down on the load. Always remember your priorities, and keep them up where they belong. Since I'm not willing to opt out of anything, I'll be highly anticipating the commence of Summer Vacation for two months of stress-free relaxation (consisting of; eat, sleep, movie-watching, adventures, picture-taking, reading, painting etc.)

Just in case anyone wanted to know, my list of books to read is:
  • Happy by Ian K. Smith
  • The Little Book of Words that Matter by The Oprah Magazine
  • Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud
  • The Power of Positive-Thinking by MaryLou Carney
  • Handwriting Interpretation (on hold)
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
  • How To Be An Explorer of the World by Keri Smith
And who could forget my novel study book, The Chrysalids by John Wyndham and my driver's manual!

Sorry guys, gotta get going. English essay and Religion test up ahead!
